Biography

Lucy started with the Playgroup in January 2022 having helped out as a parent helper in the Autumn Term 2021.

Lucy is a qualified primary & secondary school teacher. In April 2024, Lucy completed her Early Years CCPLD Level 3 and she is currently studying for her Level 4, developing her management and organisational skills further within Early Years.

Lucy has completed Level 1 safeguarding and PREVENT training, has a food hygiene certificate, Paediatric Emergency First Aid certificate and has attended the new NMS Early Years Curriculum for Wales training.

Lucy works 2 full days and one afternoon per week and covers other sessions as required.

Once her Level 4 is complete, Lucy will take on Deputy Manager duties and become a second Person in Charge for the group, providing for succession planning within the group.

Lucy has 3 young children of her own and has close links with Shirenewton School. She is involved in transition activities, ensuring the pre-school year children have a positive transition to primary school.

Lucy also has a keen interest in the Welsh language and provides Welsh language modelling for the children within the setting.
